Begin in the coastal town of Negombo, then travel back in time through the sacred city of Anuradhapura and the ancient ruins of Polonnaruwa. Climb the majestic Sigiriya Rock Fortress and explore the spiritual caves of Dambulla. In Kandy, witness the reverence of the Temple of the Tooth and visit the Pinnawala Elephant Sanctuary. Head into the cool highlands of Nuwara Eliya, trek through the breathtaking Horton Plains, and enjoy scenic views on the train ride to Ella. Day 1 – Colombo Airport - Arrival - Negombo

Approximate travel time 0.5 hrs. Distance 30 kms.

* Meet and greet at the Colombo airport (BIA) and transfer to Negombo.

* Overnight stay at hotel in Negombo.

Day 2 – Negombo – Anuradhapura.

Approximate travel time 3.00 hr. Distance 200 kms.

* After breakfast Leave for Anuradhapura.

* Visit Anuradhapura Archeological Site.

* Overnight stay at hotel in Anuradhapura.

Day 3 – Anuradhapura – Sigiriya.

Approximate travel time 1.00 hrs. Distance 60 kms.

* After breakfast at the hotel leave for Sigiriya.

* Climb Sigiriya rock fortress.

* Habarana village tour.

* Overnight stay at hotel in Sigiriya.

Day 4 – Sigiriya – Polonnaruwa – Sigiriya.

Approximate travel time 1.00 hrs. Distance 50 kms. One way.  

* After breakfast at the hotel leave for Polonnaruwa.

* Visit Polonnaruwa archeological site.

* On completion drive back to Habarana to do afternoon safari at 2.00pm.

*Overnight stay at hotel in Sigiriya.

Day 5 – Sigiriya – Dambulla – Kandy.

Approximate travel time 3.00 hrs. Distance 90 kms.

* After breakfast proceed to Kandy.

* On route visit Dambulla cave temple.

* Upon reaching Kandy do the city tour.

* Witness a traditional dance show.

* Visit Dalada Maligawa (Temple of the tooth).

*Overnight stay at hotel in Kandy.

Day 6 – Kandy – Pinnawala – Peradeniya – Kandy.

Approximate travel time 1.00 hrs. Distance 40 kms. One way.
* Leave hotel after breakfast for Pinnawala.

* Visit Pinnawala elephant orphanage.

* Drive back to Peradeniya and visit Royal botanical garden.

* Overnight stay at hotel in Kandy.

Day 7 – Kandy – Nuwara Eliya.

Approximate travel time 2.00 hrs. Distance 70 kms.

* Leave hotel in Kandy at your leisure.

* Visit tea plantation and tea factory.

* Overnight stay at hotel in Nuwara Eliya.

Day 8 – Nuwara Eliya – Horton Plains – Nuwara Eliya.

Approximate travel time 1.00 hrs. Distance 30 kms. One way.

* Leave the hotel early as possible to visit Horton plains.

* On completion drive back to Nuwara Eliya.

* Overnight stay at hotel in Nuwara Eliya

Day 9 – Nuwara Eliya – Yala.

Approximate travel time 3.00 hrs. Distance 150 kms.

* Drive to Tissamaharama.

* On route stopover in Ella for brief visit.

* Visit Ravana fall.

* Overnight stay at hotel in Tissamaharama.

Day 10 – Yala

* Start the early morning safari to Yala national park for 4.00 hrs. or for 6.00 hrs.

* Overnight stay at hotel in Tissamaharama.

Day 11 – Yala – Galle – Hikkaduwa.

* Leave Tissamaharama for Galle.

* Visit Galle Dutch fort and the naval museum.

* Overnight stay at hotel in Hikkaduwa.

Day 12 – Hikkaduwa

* Full day to relax by the beach.

* Overnight stay at hotel in Hikkaduwa.

Day 13 – Hikkaduwa – Bentota - Colombo

* Boat safari to mangrove forests and other water activities in Bentota.
