Day 01:
• Upon arrival at Colombo Airport, you will be greeted by your guide and transferred to your hotel Backwaters lodge in Eluwankualama, Wilpattu. Afternoon safari to the National Park.
Overnight stay in Wilpattu.
Day 02 –
• Leave Wilpattu for Anuradhapura, Local sightseeing in Anuradhapura including Mihintale.
Overnight stay in Anuradhapura.
Day 03 –
• Leave Anuradhapura for Jaffna, Local sightseeing in Jaffna.
Overnight stay in Jaffna.
Day 04 –
• Leave Jaffna for Nilaveli (Trincomalee), local sightseeing in Trincomalee.
Overnight stay in Nilaveli.
Day 05 –
• Local sightseeing including boat trip to Pigeon Island or Coral rock diving & snorkeling sites.
Stay overnight in Nilaveli.
Day 06 –
• Leave Nilaveli for Polonnaruwa, visit ancient city of Polonnaruwa, Gal Viharaya & Museum.
Overnight stay in Sigiriya.
Day 07 –
• Visit Sigiriya Rock Fortress: Climb this iconic UNESCO World Heritage Site and admire its ancient frescoes and breathtaking views. Once completed do the village tour including authentic cooking experience and lunch, if you wish to do the afternoon safari to one of the National parks near Habarana to witness the world’s largest Elephant gatherings or relax by the hotel.
Overnight stay in Sigiriya.
Day 08 –
• Morning hike to the summit Pidurangala Rock and the surrounding landscapes, explore ancient temples and caves, and witness stunning sunrise vistas from the rock’s peak and once completed leave for Kandy on route Explore Dambulla Cave Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site featuring ancient Buddhist murals and statues and visit Matale Spice Garden. Upon reaching Kandy local sightseeing, cultural show and pay a visit to Temple of the tooth relic (Dalada Maligawa).
Overnight stay in Kandy.
Day 09 –
• Leave Kandy for The Elephant Freedom Project in Hiriwadunna OR Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage in Rambukkana, once done proceed to Nuwara Eliya on route visit Ramboda waterfall, Tea factory and tea plantation and city of Nuwara Eliya.
Overnight stay in Nuwara Eliya.
Day 10 –
• Morning takes the train to Ella from Nanu Oya (Nuwara Eliya) (If only possible to get the train tickets or drive by the road to Ella, upon reaching do the hikes to little Adm’s peak, Ella Rock and to the 9 arches bridge.
Overnight stay in Ella.
Day 11 –
• Leave Ella for Yala, on route visit Ravana Waterfall and do the afternoon safari to the Yala National Park.
Overnight stay in Yala.
Day 12 –
• Leave Yala for Bentota via Tangalle, Galle ancient city, Hikkaduwa beach and if you wish to you can visit turtle conservation centre in Kosgoda.
Overnight stay in Bentota.
Day 13 –
• If you wish to you can do the Madu river boat safari to Mangrove forests and island temples on the river or some water sports or leave for Colombo. If time permits do the Colombo City tour including Independence Square, Gangaramaya Temple, Beautiful parks within the city and Colombo Museum, Pettah market area or you can do this activity next day before your departure.
Overnight stay in Colombo.
Day 14 –
• Transfer to Colombo Airport for your departure flight. End of your unforgettable Sri Lankan adventure. Leave Colombo 4:00 hrs. before your departure flight.
